Frequently Asked Questions

Cosmetic Tattoo FAQ

Please read through this entire page and let me know if you have any questions!

How much do you charge?

My services range from $50-$600, and all pricing can be found on the "Services" tab of this website. I also now require a deposit for every paid service. The deposits are non-refundable, but can be transferred only if appointment is rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

Microblading vs. powder brows?

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Instead of using a tattoo machine, I use a sterile hand tool and a disposable blade to deposit pigment into the skin. For powder brows, I use my tattoo machine and deposit tiny pixels of color to give a "powdery" finish. A "combo" brow is just like it sounds, a combination of both of these methods. 90% of people choose the combo method.

How long does it last?

Your color-retention will vary greatly depending on a million different factors. The average is 1-3 years. Most often, clients prefer to come back between 1-2 years to do a color refreshing touch up. If you want your results to last longer, you should avoid sun exposure, refrain from using harsh exfoliants and peels, and follow the after-care instructions that I provide you with. People who have naturally oily skin and larger pores should consider adding powder/shading to their service because they are less likely to have clean, crisp results when healed.

Is there down time?

Essentially, there is no down-time with this procedure. The first few days, your brows will be very bold and dark as the pigment on the surface oxidizes. Soon, they will start peeling and will fade and shrink as they heal. After four weeks you will be able to see your final results and will be able to schedule your touch up appointment so we can get your brows to perfection.

What is the aftercare like?

During your appointment, I will give you a print-out with all of your instructions and will give you an ointment to apply to your brow area. It is very important to keep your skin clean and to avoid sun exposure. Please refrain from sweating heavily for two weeks after having microblading done.

Can I get microblading done if I am pregnant?

No, I can not perform any microblading procedure on any woman who is pregnant or nursing.

What should I do before my microblading appointment?

First, it never hurts to have photos to show me so I have an idea of the brow shapes and color that you like. What celeb do you have an eyebrow crush on? What do you like your brows to look like when you wear makeup? Do you like a more natural look or do you lean more towards a bolder brow? Next, please make sure to refrain from drinking alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours prior to your appointment. Do not take any blood-thinning medications like Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, or fish oil 72 hours prior to your appointment. If you use any prescription medicines or supplements, please contact me to make sure they are compatible with cosmetic tattooing.

What methods of payment do you accept?

I am happy to accept cash and most credit/debit cards. I also accept Venmo for tipping.

Does it hurt??

I use a topical anesthetic cream to numb you before the procedure and a topical anesthetic gel to numb you during the procedure. Both of these are highly effective and help make you comfortable during your appointment. You will still feel it, but the numbing helps a lot. I have had my eyebrows microbladed and I can tell you it doesn't feel great, but I've had more than a few clients fall asleep during their appointments so it is all relative to your personal pain-tolerance.
